What is British Art?

I thought I would ask the question    WHAT IS BRITISH ART? 

With so much diversity........is Britain loosing its identity for Art?  perhaps we did not have one!

 Carole Andrews is one of my favourite artists.  She uses textile techniques to create structures in a variety of materials including roofing felt unable to clip and paste images as they are protected with copyright so please do check out her work

Today I have been organising My Favourites files some of which go back some 15 years .... surprising what I considered worthy of saving over this period of time ... it was like looking back over old photo albums and remembering what I was doing at that time... over the coming weeks I would like to share some of these favourites with you, but for starters I would like to start with figurative art in one form or other firstly though a look at felted bodies...
I came across this artist recently and now trying to create my own felted bodies.  I hope you like her work

New beginnings.......

Here goes....  A new venture into the world of blogging .. it somehow feels like a new year's resolution ... with the pressure on to deliver on a daily basis, this I cannot promise but I hope that I can bring to blogging a 'quirky slant on art' with just a touch of serious discussion on art in the 21st Century.
